The effects of using and deriving from the Bible in narration

Abstract

From the epoch of Hazrat Muhammad SAW to the nineteen century , the form and the curriculum of all the books of Seerat whether in Arabic, Persian ,Urdu or some other language, is more or less identical with a little difference or exception. Not only does Nineteenth century holds many revolutions in it, but it has also given a new in  this century Seerat Writing emerged into a new trend, form and methodology leaving aside its  tradition of derivation  and benefiting from Bible in Urdu books of Seerat . This period was highly sensitive and intricate of the Muslim of the Sub –Continent in many aspects. On the one hand due to the colonial regime of the English people , whereas on the other hand Christian  missionaries and Orientalists spoke ill of Islam and  our Prophet SAW ,due to which ,these Christian missionaries have left  no stone unturned in alienating Muslims from Islam  through their deliberate and disciplined attempts ,conjuring a skeptical mind regarding  Hazrat Muhammad  SAW, so much so they tried to promote westernization in almost all the spheres of life . To combat these circumstances, there emerged a group of people in the Sub-Continent who adopted a defensive method to the reaction of these offences. This endeavor began a tradition of ‘Derivation and Benefiting from the Bible in Urdu Books of Seerat’ in the Sub- Continent. Sir Syed Ahmad Khan , in the Sub- Continent, introduced the trend of derivation and benefiting from the Bible in Urdu Books by writing Khutabat e Ahmadia. Urdu Seerat writers quoted the Bible as a source in explaining events of Seerat and at some other places, strengthened this form by presenting a comparison of the narratives of the Bible with Islam . In the description of Seerat, where the cropped up the direct effect on the Seerat and religious literature by the trend of derivation and benefiting from the Bible, there also appeared effect on the word, in general . Due to this tradition , where modernity paved the way, Muslim scholars did a lot against the Westernization diligently for the sake of righteousness and veracity of Prophet Muhammad SAW and Islam. In the paper, we will analyze the effects which have been cast on the religious literature and the world in general that were emerged in the process of benefiting and derivation in Seerat from the Bible.
