Abstract

The book of Imam al-Darqutni titled “al-Ilal al-Waridah fi al-Ahadith al-Nabawiyyah” (The Defects Occurred the Narrations of the Prophet PBUH) is an important work in the field of Hadith sciences. This book contains a great number of defective narrations narrated by numerous experts of Hadith, including Ibn Shahab, Amr Ibn Deenar etc. Looking at the significance of this work, different International universities have given it due importance. One of these narrators is Hisham ibn Urwah, whose defective narrations were researched in this article.   The total number of the narrations of Hisham ibn Urwa is 92 in the book of Imam al-Darqutni “al-Ilal al-Waridah fi al-Ahadith al-Nabawiyyah”. After mentioning each narration, Imam al-Darqutni points out to its authority. During my Post Doctorate research, it became obvious that there are 11 narrations out of 92 on which disagreement (difference) is possible with Imam al-Darqutni. The following research article aims to discuss these 11 narrations critically and academically.
