European Majlis fociftah and Research: An Introductory Study

Abstract

The European Council for Fatwa and Research was established in 1997, consisting of several respectable scholars, who issue legal verdict and guidance in some of the most prominent Islamic centers throughout Europe, along with several scholars who do not live in Europe, but carry the worries and anxieties of their fellow Muslims in Europe, thus visit them on a frequent basis and guide them in their conditions and living situations. The objective of this Council is to promote a uniform Fatwa in Europe and to prevent controversy as well as intellectual conflicts regarding the respective issues wherever possible. This research article basically explores the internal structure, governing body, rules and regulations and methodology for issuing fatwa of the European Council.
