Knowledge and Reason as a criterion for ofice: Seeking proof from the story of Joseph (As)

Abstract

The Qisas explained by the Holy Quran are all Ahsan,but the one that is described in surah Yousaf is known as “Ahsan  ul Qisas”by Allah Almighty.From the  study of this surah,it is learned that the knowledge and wisdom  are the basic abilities for “Manasib e Deenia”. Quran e Kareem is an eternal book of guidance which contains  everlasting instructions and guidance for all the humans ,no matter which era they belong.Therefore,teachings of surah Yousaf demonstrate the eligibility criteria required to achieve the dominance and authority to rule.Hazrat yousaf (A.S) achieved the ststus of king from slavery due to knowledge.At the time of becoming king,he declared that knowledge granted to him by Allah Almighty was the reason of his achievement to rule the kingdom.Therfore,in the light of eternal rules described in the Holy Quran, it is  concluded that knowledge is the primary requirement and criteria to avhieve important status.
