The Islamic Ideological Council's Recommendations on Marital life

Abstract

Council of Islamic Ideology (cii) was set up 1962. It is a constitutional body of Pakistan which is responsible for giving legal advice on Islamic issues to the government and the parliament. The main objective of the council is to analyze the existing laws in country in the light of Islamic spirit and to mold them according to Islam (Quran & Sunnah) because Pakistan was came into existence to promote the teachings of Islam and to lead the life according to it. Moreover one of the objective of the council was also to give recommendations to Govt. of Pakistan regarding different areas such as economics, agriculture, education, health, social system, media reforms etc. that article addresses the recommendations of council about family life. In this article, wedlock (Nikaah) related injunctions for example importance of guardian’s willing, weightage to female voice, unnecessary expenses of marriage and recommendations about dowry etc are also discussed. Moreover matrimonial delay life matter of feeding and dressing of the life partner and guidance to resolve the dispute among the couple through consultation is guide lined.
