Imam Shatbi on the application of Sunnah in Different Cases

Abstract

Islam presents the solution of all human problems. It has two original sources; Quran and Hadith. It is clear that the interpretation of the Quran will be credible and reliable, and if the Sunnah and Hadith are separated from Allah, then the Qur'an will not be understood. The Quran is a book based on the principles and laws of Allah, and for the sake of explaining these principles, Allah has inspired the Holy Prophet (PBUH). If the Quran relies solely on its text for its on interpretation, many rules cannot be understood. For example, the Qur'an has ordered the establishment of prayer but did not mention the times and the methodology and all its problems. We have to turn to the Holy Prophet to explain this important membership. Likewise, there is a case of zakat, which is commanded in the Book of Allah, but we are required of the Sunnah for all its rules and problems. We have to consult sunnah for the solution of different complicated problems. Imam Shatbi has a strong opinion regarding the importance of sunnah. He has foxed this issue in his book “Al-mawafqat’’. This research study has been presented for the interpretation and explanation of Shabti’s views regarding sunnah and its application in different cases.
