Elimination/Eradication of Slavery: In The Light of Era/Time of the Holy Prophet and Pious Caliphate

Abstract

Islam is not a savior of slavery. It was on high level in Arab society before that Islam appeared. A slave was the poorest class of society. The word "ABd" was used for a slave. Virtually the master was considered as a "GOD" for his slave and the word "RAB" was used for the slaves' master. Slaves were contracted like a business trade. Islamic teachings measures consequently slavery ended. Prophet (may peace n blessings be upon him) took concrete steps against slavery. He himself freed countless slaves. Due to prophet's (may peace n blessings be upon him) revolutionary teachings slaves got not only an important status in the society but also got high ranked positions into the kingdom as far as the soldier's posts. Al this happened in the 7th century CE while til the eighteenth century slavery was remained in England, France, Germany, Spain and the Netherland. These were the prophet's (may peace and blessings be upon him) teachings that slavery got its complete end til the kingdom of four caliphs.
